notes
2026-07-17 retrospective for 2026-07-16
what was the best thing about yesterday?
- Conrad got a big raise (Yay!)
- Sarah made awesome chinese chicken noodle soup; hilarious to watch Killian eat a gallon of it.
what did I work on yesterday?
- working on a short takes focusing on corporatocracy, Anderson's private government concepts, and laying out an agenda for workfutures.io to makes that central going forward.
note forgetting
- [/] •inner workings •folio: Fussed around with a theory of note renewal and decline, or +note forgetting.
- Older notes become candidates for forgetting after some period of time. However, revisiting a note and updating it -- both stylistically (eliminating tags, etc.) and thematically (annotating, linking to other notes, etc.) renews its relevance.
- The idea is that after some time, a note that a/has few inbound links, and b/ hasn't been updated in a long time (a few years?) would be forgotten: perhaps turned into a short reference in the corresponding daily note, shelved in some way, or even deleted.
- I experimented recently with trying to create a reminder for a future date, but couldn't get it to work with templates. Maybe I need a templater script.
- update 2026-07-17 11:12 AM: Backing out of the use of
remindersfor +note forgetting, and returning to thereviewplugin which puts a link to the possible note to forget in a daily note in the future. Only hitch is I have to manually trigger it; but in general, when I pull something into Obsidian I do read it -- at least a quick scan -- when I import. I set the default for a year in the future, which may be a bit too far. I actually 'forgot' a few today: deleting the file after capturing the external link in the corresponding daily note, just in case.
everyday
- dinner = C,S,k: chinese chicken noodle soup
- fidelity.com =$133,325.24; down $80.23; going to sell $58K of SCHB because I think the chip/AI crash is starting.

- steps = 5309; bad smoke
- movies/tv = WWII; Ludwig (very amusing; keeps solving murder cases)
